Defrag conference

Eric Norlin (hey update that blog!) has a new conference Defrag. I twisted his arm so that I could be one of the speakers so that I could be cool and hang out with all the great speakers. This is going to be one of those inciteful conferences that have a relatively small number of [...]

Identity 2.0 is insecure?

Petko D. Petkov a.k.a. pdp wrote a provocative post entitled "Identity 2.0: How Attackers Break into Identity-centric Services".  As you can imagine, I was intrigued by such a title. Account delegation standard released: OAuth 1.0 now public

Title: Make Defragmentation faster

Article:
he default Windows Defragmenter isn't a good choice if you want to defragment your computer's hard drive. The Windows Defrag tool is ridiculously slow, and tests your patience like nothing else can.<br /><br />Here, I'm going to introduce to you a tool called Power Defragmenter that can be used as an alternative to the default Windows defrag.exe application. Power Defragmenter defrags your hard drive much faster.<br /><br />Power Defragmenter comes with a GUI and a little, but powerful and fast defrag application called Contig. It runs on most versions of Windows - XP, Vista, 2000.<br />Faster Defragmentation with Power Defragmenter<br /><br />Here's a short, yet effective guide to faster defragmentation using Power Defragmenter:<br /><br /> * Download the Power Defragmenter fast defrag tool from here<br /> * Unzip, and run 'Power Defragmenter GUI'<br /><br /> Faster Defragmentation Tool Screenshot<br /> * You've got four options - you can defrag a file, a folder, a hard drive partition or else there's a so called 'Power Mode' Dual Pass advanced defragmentation option.<br /> * Generally, it's good to defrag a hard disk partition, so select option 3 and proceed to the next level for defragging your disk.<br /> * Select the hard disk partition that you want to defragment, and click 'Defragment'<br /> * Defragmentation begins, and it's much faster than it usually is. The Contig.exe window will continuously display status messages indicating the progress of defragmentation.<br /><br /> Contig Defrag<br /> * When defragmentation is complete, you'll be notified of the total and free disk space, percent of file fragment, and largest extent of free space.<br /><br />Do let us know in the comments if this tool works for you. Have you noticed a jump performance-wise after a defragmentation on your PC? Have you tried any other tools that help in fast defragging of your hard drive? Tell us in the comments section.

My new facebook friend!

I have become a fairly active Facebook user and recently had Lindsay Adams invite me to be a friend. Lindsay had no other friends at the time and, well, given the photo, was not really buying that this hot blonde *really* wanted to be my friend. I am naive at times, but not that naive! I [...]
