he default Windows Defragmenter isn't a good choice if you want to defragment your computer's hard drive. The Windows Defrag tool is ridiculously slow, and tests your patience like nothing else can.<br /><br />Here, I'm going to introduce to you a tool called Power Defragmenter that can be used as an alternative to the default Windows defrag.exe application. Power Defragmenter defrags your hard drive much faster.<br /><br />Power Defragmenter comes with a GUI and a little, but powerful and fast defrag application called Contig. It runs on most versions of Windows - XP, Vista, 2000.<br />Faster Defragmentation with Power Defragmenter<br /><br />Here's a short, yet effective guide to faster defragmentation using Power Defragmenter:<br /><br /> * Download the Power Defragmenter fast defrag tool from here<br /> * Unzip, and run 'Power Defragmenter GUI'<br /><br /> Faster Defragmentation Tool Screenshot<br /> * You've got four options - you can defrag a file, a folder, a hard drive partition or else there's a so called 'Power Mode' Dual Pass advanced defragmentation option.<br /> * Generally, it's good to defrag a hard disk partition, so select option 3 and proceed to the next level for defragging your disk.<br /> * Select the hard disk partition that you want to defragment, and click 'Defragment'<br /> * Defragmentation begins, and it's much faster than it usually is.
